Good evening Twelve Bridges families,

This is Mr. Cubias with your special Monday night “Week at a Glance” for the week of January 22nd through January 26th.

Our “Bowling and Baskets” event tickets are now on sale!  It will be held at Strikes on February 10th from 5-7pm.  This is a pre-sale event only and tickets will be sold until February 2nd (so that we can get our food order in).  Each ticket gets you bowling, music, two slices of pizza, and unlimited soda (please bring your own tennis shoes or you will need to rent the shoes separately).  We will also be holding our class basket silent auction during this event.  The silent auction will close at 6:15 and winners will be announced soon after.  Price is $15 each for the first two people $12 each thereafter.  Buy your tickets soon as we can only sell 350 tickets.  Forms can be downloaded here or can be picked up in the front office; you may also purchase online at www.squareup.com/twelve-bridges-elementary-ptc.

Classroom Emergency Kits for every classroom are being assembled.  Lowe’s has generously donated the five gallon buckets, but now we need the supplies to go in them.  I’ve created this Amazon page that works like a registry.  For those who are willing, I’m asking that you visit the site and purchase whatever items in whatever quantity you choose.  We’ll have the link active until the end of January, at which point we’ll see where we are and try and cover the remainder with our PTC and site funds.  Thanks, as always, for working with us to create the safest environment we can for our kids and staff!

The Six Flags Read to Succeed Program has begun!  This program, sponsored by Six Flags Theme Parks, encourages students to read for fun.  Students must complete 6 hours of recreational reading to be eligible for a free admission ticket to Six Flags.  Reading for homework or a class assignment does NOT count.  Reading logs have already gone home and are due back by February 8, 2018.  Reading logs may be submitted as soon as the required reading has been completed. If you have any questions, you can email Ms. Bremner at dbremner@wpusd.k12.ca.us.

We encourage you to visit our teacher websites regularly to keep current on homework assignments, weekly projects, and events.  Also, i-Ready is an important at home skill-building tool, so please encourage your child to continue using it for 45 minutes or more per subject, per week to stay sharp on their math and ELA skills.

Have a great week!
